Qi Gong morning workshop with Chris McAlister Jerusalem, 17 July 2023
[לגרסה בעברית - לחצו כאן]
Continuing a long tradition, Chris McAlister is coming to Israel in July!
As has become customary in the past few years, this year he will also give a short Qi Gong workshop in Jerusalem.
(Please note that this year there will only be one such workshop, and it will occur on Monday morning).
The theme of this year's Jerusalem morning workshop is: "Qigong - from the depths of tradition to the wellsprings of innovation", resonating with this year's theme of the larger workshops.
In our workshop we will move through familiar moments and within them find new space and fresh perspectives.
The first part of the workshop will be dedicated to the practice of the traditional "Kidney Qi Return to Source" programme. As we practice, we will revisit the aspects of traditional knowledge that concern endurance, resilience and perseverance.
After the break, we will move into the modern age and experience some of the techniques that have arrived through Chris himself.
The second part of the workshop will be done sitting down, and we will encounter the highly mysterious Triple Heater and Pericardium meridian functions, in conjunction with the three Dan Tian energy centres of traditional Daoist practice.
We will round off our session with a sequence called Ling Gong, which came to Chris two years ago… The Ling - beyond time, beyond space, beyond prediction…
More about the workshop, in the description written by Chris, at the end of the text.
For those who still haven't experienced working with Chris - Chris is a wonderful teacher, who brings an abundance of depth into the practice of Qi Gong. The open, warm and personal meeting, and the pleasant guidance, enhance the possibility to experience the internal flow while practicing.
This workshop is intended both for newer and for more experienced participants!
We would be happy if you share the information with other people who might be interested.

"The Poetry of Touch: Alchemy, Transformation and Oriental Medicine"
In Chris' words:
Qigong from the depths of tradition to the wellsprings of innovation
As we enter the realm of Qigong, we enter hallowed ground.
There is always room to smile, joke and laugh – after all, Boddhidharma himself said that nothing was holy...
Still, we are mindfull that we are treading in the footsteps of our spirit ancestors, those who trod the path to make it easier for we who follow after.
We gently acknowledge all the preparatory work done and join them in practice, as time dissolves…
In our time together, we will move through familiar moments and within them find new space and fresh perspectives.
We will also take on the joyful challenge of new exercises, brought to us through modern descendants, inheritors of the living tradition, channels of innovation.
Standing and moving, breathing and dreaming, we take our place and make our own footprints for future generations to follow.
Our session will begin with the sturdy and traditional Kidney Qi Return to Source programme. As we perform the movements, and in the break afterwards, we will revisit the aspects of traditional knowledge that concern endurance, resilience and perseverance.
After the break, we will move into the modern age and experience some of the techniques that have arrived through my own person.
Initially, we will encounter the highly mysterious Triple Heater and Pericardium meridian functions, in conjunction with the three Dan Tian energy centres of traditional Daoist practice.
We will round off our session with a sequence called Ling Gong, which came though my being around two years ago… when I was least expecting it, but in a time of heightened synchronicity…
Warm welcome!
